    Unhappy Peter Jennings 1938-2005

    1938-2005

No words can convey the loss, the sadness we all feel, here at ABC News. Peter was our mentor, our colleague, our friend....and I, personally, shall miss him dearly.

Kayce, Elizabeth and Christopher...may you find comfort knowing that he is at peace.

The news world has lost one of the most respected reporters today...May your rest in peace Mr. Jennings, and may the future reporters learn from your many years of experience.

Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. He was a great man respected by many. I too will never forget his coverage of 09-11. He was always so strong and stern, but to see him break down and hear his voice crack as he choked back tears that day was something I will never forget.

    May he rest in peace.

I always enjoyed watching and listening to him. He was such a professional, yet he lent a personal touch to all his newscasts. I loved his Canadian accent, too. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I have to agree...he always seemed to care the most out of any newscaster I ever watched.

    Rest in peace.

Agree with him or not, Peter Jennings had a knack for making a viewer feel like he was talking "to" them and not "at" them. He will be sorely missed.

Condolences to Ed, the rest of the ABC News family, and particularly to the Jennings family for their untimely loss.

We are always proud when one of our countrymen makes it to the top on the world stage. Although Peter Jennings was Canadian, he is truly a World Ambassador and will be truly missed.

He will be hard to replace.

By the way, Canadians don't have accents.

Oh well, maybe it wasn't an accent, but I loved the way he pronounced his words. His manner of speaking was unique and classy.
