Saw the breaking news. Large chemical fire in Detroit at a recycling plant. They're evacuating a mile or so radius around it. Chemical fumes detected up to 10 miles away.
Any brothers from Detroit that can bring us up to speed?
Stay safe brothers.

The fire is in Romulus. About 15 miles southwest of Detroit. I was at my station after a call and heard the tone out. We are on the same radio freq as them. Quite an interesting size up report.
Last I heard, 2 MILLION gals of assorted chemicals were involved.

Sounded like they let it burn itself out for the most part. Detroit Metro Airport FD came in with there Big Boy ARFFs & hit alot more of the fire.
Western Wayne Haz. Mat. and Washtenaw County Haz Mat. were both working the scene as well. A friend of mine on Wash. Ctny Haz. Mat was out there for most of the day yesterday and last nite.Stay Safe & Bring 'em Home!
