Default Mix Up with the 10 Questions

Yesterday I posted a topic (See Question for BC79er or KTB9780) about getting a letter from DHS about being ineligable for a apparatus grant because our department did not have the call volume and that they felt we could handle calls with our current fleet. This was after we recieved the 10 questions AND an updated 1199A link on our 2004 grant page.

Anyway after a few e-mails and calls to DHS to sort this out it seems that our original application number was mistaken with another department's and we were sent the 10 questions and 1199A by mistake. As our application went further down the line DHS caught the mistake. DHS then mistakenly sent us the ineligable e-mail. So as it stood as of yesterday we are still eligable for an award although I would guess not a great chance at it.

Just thought I would pass this along to everybody. I still give DHS a ton of credit for the amount of work they are putting into this grant program. I would also like to add that all e-mails and calls to DHS were returned promptly and they were very helpful even though it was not what we really wanted to hear. Also special thanks goes to BC79er for some help and advice he gave me offline.

Hopefully things work out for us. Good Luck to everyone else!

My guess is that he can, however until the Pain and Suffering NOFA is dealt with he cannot recieve the funds for the P&S.

As I have always said, count on Murphy's law here folks. Mistakes happen for the good and sometimes for the bad. My sympathies to you guy. Just plain poor luck.

I know it doesn't make anything easier, but at least it was caught prior to an award announcement. And as we've said before in the forums, the Questions and 1199's may not be 100% guarantee. That does suck for your department. I feel badly for you and yours. However, bright side is your still in running, right?

Would think that the mix up with the award number means YOUR department and stats will be the ones judged now, not the inter-weaving of theirs and yours, as appears to be what happened.

I'll be thinking happy thoughts for you, and hoping they find some extra funding laying around for your Pain and suffering and all the turmoil they've put ya through! Good Luck, and may the 'force be with ya'!

I think it came down to a simple typo (transposed numbers in the app number when listing the awards for notification), so the scoring was already done and recorded.

I believe that if I recieved a DJ I would at the very least insist upon a "tech review" to ascertian that all "i were dotted and t's crossed" by DHS. A call to the program director's office and letter woul dbe prudent to assure that this was done properly at the very least.
