Stoke Newington house blaze


Firefighters are still at the scene of a fire at a house in Lordship Road in Stoke Newington. The Brigade was called after passers-by saw smoke coming from the ground floor of the two storey house which was empty at the time. The fire has destroyed around half of the ground floor and part of the first floor and crews are still at the scene working to make the building safe. The Brigade was called at 1005.


West Brompton fire in flat

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters tackled a fire at a flat in Drayton Gardens, West Brompton. Crews using breathing apparatus dealt with the blaze which damaged part of the fourth floor flat. The Brigade was called at 13:15 and the fire was under control at 14:01. Crews from Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Kensington fire stations attended the incident.
