    Default DEET vs. Nomex

This is another interesting read from the USFA:

Safety Alert: DEET Mosquito Repellant Reduces Flame Resistance of Firefighters' Nomex Clothing
DEET mosquito repellant reduced the flame resistance of NOMEX clothing worn by wildland firefighters. The U.S. Forest Service's Missoula Technology and Development Center recommends that firefighters avoid applying DEET mosquito repellant to their Nomex firefighting clothing. Firefighters can apply DEET mosquito repellant to their skin, following manufacturer's recommendations. Firefighters can apply permethrin, an insecticide, to their Nomex clothing without destroying the clothing's flame resistance.

Ummm, why would you spray your PPE with mosquito repellant? I havent met a mosquito yet that can bite through something that thick.
