we said good bye to one of are own

friday my dept. laid to rest a geat man, one of the founders of the dept. in the 60's.

fire did not get him but time did.

he built our first fire station by his self, block by block.

in the 80's he stepped down as chief but remained an active firefighter and was the secatary-treasurer of the dept. he watched the pennys but told me to spend dollars when needed and said not to worrey about the money that was his job.

he taught me many things: the most important being patience.

his death was sudden and caught us by suprise and we will be feeling the loss for a long time. but we will continue on because he will not let us stop.
