Anyone who might want to apply for this job, BEWARE! The last fire chief quit due to the fact that the county would not provide adequate funds for hiring needed firefighters. Cherokee County is a northern suburban county of Atlanta that has seen explosive growth. The department up there is grossly under-staffed, running only 1 man on an engine company on some days. You should be warned that you are going into a 'no win situation' if you take that job. The county management refuses to provide the funds needed to hire the required personnel. It is an accident waiting to happen.
