This past spring my department responded to four working fires in one night, all seemingly started within a half hour of the previous fire. All were considered suspicious. The usual suspects were subsequently mentioned by investigators. The list included firefighters, environmentalist, etc...
Well, it turned out being Jr. Firefighters from a nearby Volunteer department.
The local press aired pictures of my dept. during their coverage even though these "Jr. Firefighters" had no affiliation with my department.
It’s bad enough that the mooks were affiliated with firefighting but the irresponsible coverage will hurt our image and fundraising efforts going forward.
Just venting
This is the follow up story.
