    Question Haven't heard anything?!?!

Our department has not heard anything about the grants. No information back what so ever according to the chief. Does this mean it is all over for us??

No, the first round will only be about 2,000 of the 5,400 estimated awards. First round of denials will be within 2-3 weeks, all notifications of award or denial will be by Sept 30th. So for better or for worse, you'll know soon enough.

Just an FYI...They've got a ton of e-mail addresses on their notification list, so it's possible your Congressional office staffer/representative hasn't received the e-mail yet. Or, since it's recess, they did receive it and the person on the list is out of the office.

correct. no questions or 1199. Just curious because I haven't been involved in the process so I'm not familiar with how it works. Thanks for the info.

Don't feel bad wfire, I'm in the same boat as you.

Year 1, we didn't know about the program so we didn't apply.
Year 2, applied for a new rescue truck, Dear John #1.
Year 3, applied for PPE and hydraulic rescue tools, Dear John #2.
This year, applied for a new rescue to replace our 1986 rescue that is falling apart and has no room for all of our equipment, haven't heard a peep but after talking with Brian and him pointing out that it looks doubtful since Rescue Trucks aren't a priority one item, I really don't have much hope for our department's future since this is our only truck.

I hope you do better than us.

SV, AFG is not the only road to travel. There are other choices too. Give me a holler offline and I can fill you in. You just may not have the WHOLE picture yet.
