Does anyone remember the movie that was made based on the FDNY I think. And if followed rookies through the academy and everything it was a documentary I believe. Does anyone know if it ever was released or what happened with it?

There was a documentary on a probationary firefighter from Engine 7 and 1 Truck which I believe aired on the 1yr Anniversary of 9/11 (on CBS.) He was being followed by two french brothers, showing what it was like to be a probationary firefighter and 9/11 occured while they were filming. I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about.

Could it be Firehouse with Richard Roundtree? I think it was made in the early 70's about a probie firefighter.

There is an excellent documentary called "Brotherhood" that is about three FDNY companies and how they are coping with the changes in the department after 9/11. It begins with a speech at the beginning of recruit academy. Not sure if this is what you are talking about, but all FF should see it. Tremendous movie!

I saw that on NOVA.Surprisingly,PBS didn't edit out any of the remarks(Holy Sh**!)made when the camera panned to look at the lowflying plane just as it went in.
