*** REPORT FROM THE LINE OF FIRE ***

UNITED KINGDOM
LONDON, ENGLAND

MONDAY 22 AUGUST

Kingston – motor vehicle fire
Firefighters were called to a fire involving a car, van and caravan parked at a site on Down Hall Road in Kingston early this morning. Crews worked quickly to contain the fire and stop it from spreading. A man who had fallen down into a nearby embankment to get away from the blaze was assisted to safety by firefighters using a ladder and taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. The cause of the fire is being investigated. The Brigade was called at 0230. Crews from Kingston and Surbiton fire stations attended the incident.

Acton – four men escape house fire
Around twenty firefighters fought a blaze which badly damaged a house on Berrymead Gardens in Acton early on Sunday morning. A man on the second floor of the property woke up and on the way to the kitchen noticed flames coming from a bedroom on the ground floor. He entered the room and woke up a second man who had been sleeping and then raised the alarm for the other two men in the house to get out. The fire is thought to have been caused by a bedside lamp coming into contact with bedding materials. Fire crews used breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control. The Brigade was called at 0514 and the fire was under control by 0606. Crews from Acton and Chiswick fire stations attended the incident.
