    Default Cap on grants

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought there was a 750k cap on the grants. If you look through some already given this year, there are a few higher than that. Did they change that this year?

    From the PG:

A grantee that serves jurisdiction with 500,000 people or less may not receive grant funding in excess of $1,000,000 in any fiscal year. A grantee that serves a jurisdiction with more than 500,000 but not more than 1,000,000 people may not receive grants in excess of $1,750,000 in any fiscal year. A grantee that serves a jurisdiction with more than 1,000,000 people may not receive grants in excess of $2,750,000 in any fiscal year.

Those are actually combinations of grant programs, so if a department receives funding from the Homeland Security program, anything they get from AFG can't put them over the respective totals. This will eliminate some cities since most of the metropolitan areas got a ton of money dumped on them already.

Our regional grant which was awarded Aug 19 was for $976K. When you devide it among the 31 departments, the communication grant averaged $31K per department.

    Good Luck to all!!!
