I'd have said halligan as well, but I'm betting that fflynn is asking this question for a reason. What WAS the answer ?
To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world.

Being that it is a civilian show that rarely uses extremely technical verbage, I could expect to see:

    Crow Bar
    Pry Bar
    Hooligan Bar

and maybe even spanner wrench (although that is a stretch).

Got an answer for us Flynn (or should I say a question )?

Default And the "Correct" Answer" was

From the 2004 College Championships, rerun this week the answer the contestant gave (and was called correct) was crow bar!!

Jeopardy has forums much like these (I can't give the exact address, I can't get to it from work). I registered and corrected them, giving the correct history of the Halligan. The "keeper of the Jeopardy archives" is deciding whether or not to note the correction in the archives!!

If you go to www.jeopardy.com and click on the communicate button at the bottom, you can get to the forums.

They actually have a website with all the questions and answers for a number of years archived!!

I never thought I'd catch Jeopardy in an "error"
