I realize you might have a tight budget, however if you're on you're feet all day it might be worth scraping up the extra coin somehow. Just a little bit more comfort can make you day that much better or worse. Also you might go thru 2 cheap pairs in the time 1 more moderately priced might last. Other than that I'm no help.

thanks for the input guys, might be right about the comfort level. what's the most comfortable steel toed boot IYO?

We used HighTek boots in the military that were comfy but they were definately not steel toed.

you looking for a duty boot or strucual FF'ing boot? You could try the firestore.com and if you need something right now you could try wal-mart thats where I got the pair I used for my EMS clinicals.

I meant to mention to check out Georgia Boots if you're looking for daily wear. I've worn Georgias for several years. VERY comfortable! In fact I wear them daily rather than tennis shoes! (except for running) There are a gang of georgias on Ebay, or check out your local Georgia dealer. I paid $105 for my steel toe 8" water proof loggers, and $65 for my non steel toe loggers. http://www.georgiaboot.com/

Are you talking structural boots or station boots?? I was under the impression that you were talking about structural boots. I got a pair of $125 Rocky side zips for $25 at their outlet store and I love them.

Try The Supply Sgt. in Burbank. It's a real surplus store. Most comfortable steel toes I've ever worn? Docs.

Go to Wal*Mart and buy a pair of "Brahma" brand boots. They have them in black steel toe. Under $40.

Why wear cheap boots or shoes? It will only hurt your feet and may cause you to really get hurt where your feet and toes may get crushed!
