Hey,
With all of the new different boards you guys are adding, I'd like to see a forum dedicated to building and fire safety codes and enforcement. It'd be a place where people can discuss building codes in their areas, ideas to improve the code, ways to better enforce codes in place, and perhaps discuss how to get municipalities to enact more stringent codes.
Anyone else concur?

Suggestion to the WebTeam (With a poll for everyone else)

Great idea!
"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

Good idea - let everyone see how the code varies across the world!
-I have learned people will forget what you said,
-People will forget what you did,
-But people will never forget how you made them feel!

Sounds good to me, No question that some would gain knowledge from it.

Not yes, but hell yes!!
As an Inspector, there are many problems and difficulties encountered that I would like to 'bounce' off others who have experience in that field. A fire code forum or 'inspectors' forum would be an absolute asset to this great site!!

Okay, webteam, as my boss says:

As a fire inspector myself, I think it would be cool to compare notes with others.

No New Forum - But I have A Question.
With Fall approaching, do any other Fire Inspectors have any issues with large rural stores building 'Hay' or other 'combustible material' multi-level mazes (kinda like the McDonalds in store fun houses, but made of hay bales). I'm talking a total size of about 20' L x 15' W x 7' H. These are designed to allow kids to 'play' in with interior crawlways on 2 or 3 levels.
Obviously these aren't built following any building codes, and dont have any interior illumination, exit signs etc.
I realise that all jurisdictions have different codes, but I am looking for any input into similar experiences and how they were dealt with, if at all.
Thanks
