It shouldn't hold you up at all. Only problem you may have is the waiting game finding out when your 2005 is going to be awarded.
Be Safe.....

Well, it depends on when you were awarded '04 AFG. If it was early rounds...you need to get in touch with your Rep IMMEDIATELY, since you're close (or could be close) to your 12 months and haven't closed out the grant. So, you'd need to request an extension. Because, if you are overdue on a close out report, it will in fact, hold up your 2005 AFG award, if you are due to receive one. Don't close out though, until you make your final purchases - because as mentioned in previous threads, once closed out, the money is gone (even if there's leftover). Best of luck on that...

Even though you are still working on your 2004 grant, it should not hold up your award for 2005. We were awarded last week for 2005 and we are still ordering equipment from the 2004 grant. Our performance period for 2004 is up towards the end of October.
The closeout report needs to be completed within 90 days from the end of your performance period. The key here is that the scope of the project has to be completed by the end of the performance period. The 90 days will provide time to recieve and pay for items that may have been ordered before the end of the preformace period.
As Dixie pointed out, you need to file for an extension if you can not complete the project before the end of the performace period. No one wants to have an award held up because they don't complete the project on time or don't submit the closeout reports.

MSV, my home dept. is in same boat as you...we won LATE Feb/early March '05 for the 2004 AFG, then funded FIRST ROUND 2005 AFG! As long as your semi-annual report (6 month) is completed, no need to worry til closer til the end of the period.
Just make sure (as I have pointed out in numerous other threads and posts...) keep VERY good records on BOTH grants. Make sure you don't mingle any files. And most of all, have fun! You've earned it after sweatin' out the wait.
Good Luck!
