Showing up to an interview in a cast?
I currently work for a small career department (9 on the line) and was injured on the job two weeks ago. I broke my ankle. 2 months ago I applied for another job and was called for interview today.
The job pays considerably more than what I receive now (50k vs 32k) I will have the cast on my ankle for 3 weeks after the interview.
I would obviously give at least 2 weeks if not 3 weeks notice to my current employeer anyways...
How do you think the new employeer would look at my situation?

I'm assuming you're concerned about turning up in a cast?
Shouldn't be a problem. To cover yourself, you may like to get (if possible) some sort of clearance from your Doctor outlining what the long term prospect is for the ankle (To elt the new employer know that there is not going to be any long term issue they need to know about)Luke

If I saw someone with a cast my first thought would be that this person is a liability for the department. They have a higher chance of getting injured than someone who is not currently injured. I know this is not always the case, but it would be in the back of my mind.

I don't agree with the above posts. At most it would probably be "what happened", if it was work related (which you state it was) they will probably ask a little deeper but not a lot. I wouldn't let it consume you, they will hire you based on many things, but I would bring along a doctors note on long term outlook.
