    Default Apparatus Grants

So, anybody have a feel for these yet?

I my area there have been 2 ambulances so far!

    I have a grant in for a pumper/tanker for a rural VFD.

Are these a high priority item this year?

    Any rural areas getting pumpers???

Got awarded a pumper/tanker. I know of three, maybe four rural departments in my area that got pumpers. Haven't seen any EMS grants be awarded around here yet, but there are very few EMS providers that qualify here.

EMS Vehicles were in a different category, so you're not competing against them for the money. The whole EMS section was 2% ($13 mil), and not part of the 25% ($165mil) for fire trucks.

It is getting tight on truck bucks, I think I calculated only $32 mil left in that part of the program. They really did front end load vehicle awards to get them built quicker.

I have tankers, pumper/tankers, and pumpers going to rural folks. Although they don't have a pumper/tanker category, it's either over 1250 gallon tank and called a tanker, or less than 1250 gallon tank and called a pumper. No more hybrid names. They're all Priority 1 trucks, just semantics in the grand scheme of things.
