    Unhappy Fire Science Degree outlook

Can anyone help me? I am looking for other professions in the fire science degree area beside firefighting. I am an 18 year old who has been in the fire department since I was 14 and now am going to college for a bachelorís degree in Fire Science. I am having second thought on become a paid firefighter for life. What else can I do with my degree? I will always be a volunteer, but I have to think about down the road with my family that I hope to have? Please help! Pease list job opportunities along with their description. Thank you

Many of the above are possible routes but may require a more in depth degree(engineering degree). Inspector is a definate possibility, there is a lot of work in the insurance field. You may have to do some generalized underwriting at first but after a few years you get into the fire end of the job. You can also look at some R&D aspects of some companies. If you have the money try to get a masters in something like Fire Protection Engineering from WPI and U of Maryland, then the possibilities come to you.
