I think it's local EMS. Pretty sure on Parker county and I think Wise. Don't quote me on that. If not AMR might be in that area or Careflight.

From what I know...
Wise County is operated as Wise County EMS and financed by the county. From what I know they are a well respected group of folks. The county commissioners recently requested a formal proposal for 911 service from Careflite. The proposal was, in a nutshell, for Careflite to take over the service retaining personnel and equipment if at all possible. The reason for the request was that the subsidy, as I understand it, from the county has increased significantly each of the last few years including a projected subsidy of more than $1 million for the next fiscal budget.
Parker County has several municipal based departments (volunteer and paid) that provide service in the county along with Life Care EMS.
As far as Cook County is concerned, I think the operate similarly to Parker."lo que sea, cuando sea, donde sea"

Thank you all
Thanks for the info. I know that Careflite takes care of Johnson county, and they're on my list of providers to apply with once I get the word back on my EMT-B test. I'm just trying to gather some more, since I've heard that MedStar has a 100 person waiting list for EMTs. Thanks again.

Not to mention the downsizing, rumor has it, that may possibly happen at Medstar. When you get your paperwork contact me offline. I live in FW and currently work for 3 different EMS providers (including Careflite). I'd be happy to help in any way.

As reeveo mentioned, Parker Co. uses Life Care which is run through Campbell Hospital in Weatherford. They run between 3 & 5 ambulances at a time depending on time of day, etc.

I passed!
I got my results several weeks ago, but I've been working so hard I haven't had time to get online. I passed! I'm not quite sure what you meant by contact you offline. I'm probably going to have to have 3 EMS jobs myself... Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

medstar gave me a job offer last feb in frtworth. There was no waiting list, but you practically have to pay them to work there. Unfortunately I turned it down.

Woo Hoo!
I actually have an interview with them in a couple of weeks, so hopefully that will work out. As for the eating, I guess that is kind of important, huh?

Call me at the station on Sunday at 817-293-4660 and ask for me, James. I'll get you some contact info and we can discuss some options for you. Or if you prefer send me an email, evfd@charter.net, and I'll get back to you sometime after Saturday.
