Cairns Helmets (paint)

has anyone had problems wit the paint and primer on their cairns leather helmets (new yorker) lifting off the leather and flaking off? ive had the helmet a few months and ive temporaily fixed it by spraying high temp paint on it but it looks like ****. any one have this problem and know how to fix it? (helmet hasnt seen the inside of a building fire yet)

don't have an answer for your question but I do have some warning. prepare to get jumped here in the forums. helmet questions is a bag of worms you don't want to open. try doing a search in the forums, i know there are a lot of other threads that deal with a similar topic. i'm sure one of them is bound to have the answer you need.

If the helmet is new and has not been in fire or exposed to anything that would have caused the peeling paint, I would contact Cairns as it sounds like a manufacturing defect.
