    Default Questions

I'm 15 and lately i've been thinking about what career i'm going to pursuide after high school. Well i've been doing a lot of research on firefighting and I really like it. I'm looking for a job that requires some physical endurance. Well i'm thinking, I should go to collage right after high school for 2 years and get my associates degree in Fire Science and some other classes in case something happens and I need something to fall on. Like if I physically get hurt.

Maybe Fire Science, Electronics, and Engineering. I think those are some degrees that could be useful to have. Then i'd go to an academy and then volunteer for half a year and get my EMT license. Can anyone here give me some tips or tell me some stuff that I should know?

    -Thanks in advance.

Looks like you already have a good plan. Stick with it! Search several different departments and choose a place that you would like to work and live. Talk to the other firefighters, both veterans and rookies, and get their individual views of the department. That will help some in your decision of which departments you should try to get on. Don't give up. Jobs worth the trouble can be difficult to get.

With your interests, I'd look into a good Fire Protection Engineering program.
