Default 09/15/05 - Coal City, IL - Full Still

    Hello All:

To whoever might be interested I have posted some shots of a little job in Coal City if there is anyone on here from the area.

Fire was in an attached garage of a 1 story frame PD.

Knocked down when I got there, but I got the men working!

    Photos Here:

Nate, I see you also had some pics from Dwight. Are you from that area? I've got some friends in Channahon and Braidwood.

Hell, I got friends all over!

Nice pics, but I can't sell them: they've got this red writing all over them!!

    Jaybird,

I grew up in Dwight, IL. I was a firefighter there for about 8 years. I was also a firefighter in Westmont for about 3 before moving out here.

The nice thing about the red writing is, when you buy the photos the red writing comes off!

Tell your friends to buy some pictures LOL

I have heard the name Jim Roberts. I don't believe that I have ever met him though.

Alex and I are very good friends and stay in touch even today. A great guy, great chief and I was proud to be a firefighter and a Lieutentant under him

Jim Roberts was an instructor for IFSI for many years. He taught ERT classes under the Department of Transportation. Excellent instructor. I guess he was head of transportation with the Pontiac schools for many years.
Alex sold us our very first set of Viking Rescue Tools. We still have them for back ups to our Genesis system now.
Alex is a great guy. He got screwed by his city fathers. One of the most knowledgeable people I ever met. I always enjoyed getting with him in Springfield to talk shop.
    He still well-to-do?

    Alex is doing well.

Yeah, he did get screwed by the department "fathers". The whole department actually did. The city really didn't have much to do with it to be honest.

Anyway, he is doing great. I usually see him when I am back in town (all of my family is still there).

    That guy knows everyone!
