Tip#1 - be in New York for St Patrick's Day
Tip#2 - register (so as your email and private messaging is enabled - it's free) or post an email addy so as I can send you some more info offline

PS - good choice for timing for a holiday - getting out of the city when the Commonwealth Games are on is looking like being a damn good idea.

San Francisco is a great city. (but expensive). You are more than welcome to PM me if you have any specfic questions or ask here and I'll answer. I can point you in the direction of what to see here. Food, San Francisco is a foodie's paradise.

I can help out with Tennessee. I'm originally form the Nashville area and have spent quite a bit of time in Memphis. (I'm currently in the northwest corner in the middle of nowhere, or between Memphis and St. Louis, depending on how you look at it.) Let me know how I can help.

-Inner Harbor Baltimore , MD -Washington DC I concur. There is a huge amount to do in both places. I havent been to the others, but Balitmore is very nice, and DC is mega history, and museums galor if you are into those sorts of things.

Damn, we are probably gonna have a whole heap of people from melbourne come flooding up here.

One thing that has always gotten up my nose is the caption on some of the victorian number plates that say 'Victoria-The place to be'. If Victoria is the place to be, why are you in Queensland.

P.S. please dont start on the 'Smart State' number plates from here, we are all embarresed by them and Peter Beattie should be shot.

For all the life of me, i cant see a firefighter going to hell. At least not for very long. We would end up putting out all the fires and annoying the devil too much.

Go to NC and try a Moon Pie and a RC Cola, or a cheerwine. Also try some good home made sweet tea.
