Factory Fire
Kenosha, WI


At around 2100 hrs. Kenosha Fire was dispatched to the 4300 blk of 43rd Ave. for a report of a factory fire. Report's came in as fire show though the roof. First engine on scene reported a working fire. Command then called in extra truck to the scene to set up a master stream of water. Oter fire department's were called to man other station's in Kenosha. Off duty firefighter were also called in. Command told fire crew's to be aware of LP bottles of exploding. The factory was a rendering plate; they melt down animal fat to make perfume. It was a stuborn fire to fight. Fire crew's remained on scene all day Saturday hitting hot spot's. The fault of the fire was elecrical. Rehab was also called. Most of Kenosha fire rig's were on scene.

The Western Historical Manuscript Collection at the University of Missouri-St. Louis is sponsoring an exhibit of photographs by photographer David J. Dubowski. The exhibit entitled FIRE IN THE LENS is in the WHMC gallery on the second floor of the Thomas Jefferson Library on the campus of the University of Missouri St. Louis. Mr. Dubowski is a Fireman and his work reflects his profession. The photographs will be on exhibit from through Monday October 31.
