To see it, is it considered a 'real' car faar?
That is the $64.00 question of the night. I had the misfortune of experiencing a car faar (yes spelling is correct - I was at PG Co Stn 18 today ehheeehe) from a very personal viewpoint. On my way home from 18 I first had a transmission failure, and was locked in 1st gear. So in trying to limp home the last few miles, I started to have an overheat situation, but by the time I managed to get off of Rte 50 and off the road, I had a full blown engine fire. After popping the hood and seeing the small camp fire in the compartment, I wondered around to the back of the truck and pulled my FE. In the time it took to walk to the back, I had time to think about the FE and where in the back it was, did I want to put my gear on (its in a bag in the back too) and whether some by-stander was going to do an IX-II (thats 911 you slower types) call on me. As it turned out one of the by-standers grabbed an air/water FE from the apartment building, and the result of that is that what should have been a very quietly doused (with dry chem) fire, made into high steam/smoke volume blowing back into my face.
While waiting for the tow truck from AAA to arrive, Skyraider did the "ABOVE AND BEYOND" by coming to my rescue. First by providing me with the AAA phone number and then again by driving out to keep me company and bring me home.
THANK YOU SKYRAIDER
I was asked to tone it down a bit![]()

No, this is NOT a Car Faar!
The precedent was set by the question of: " If a man talks in the woods and his wife's not there, is he still wrong?"
He was found to be, in fact, moot by a 5-4 majority of the old supreme court.

Update: I got a call from the shop late last night. The fire damage has been repaired, to the tune of $650.00. As I write this the mech is looking into what happened with the transmission and what caused it to fail on me.
He will also investigate either rebuilding or replacing it. In any case the Insurance Adjuster will be visiting again on Friday for a final assessment, and then that part should be completed. Hopefully I will have the truck back sometime next week if all goes well.
So far I will say that I am mighty impressed with the speed of service. I dropped the truck off on Tuesday afternoon, and all fire damage has been repaired. I figured I wouldn't hear back until maybe next week. I guess the RRT did its job on the knock down and overhaul eh? LOL

I feel your pain. A few years ago this happened to me. Only where my extinguisher was supposed to be, it wasn't. Luckily, the owner of the house where I stopped, had a few extra to bring me. Totaled my truck though. And for your information, chew juice does NOT put fires out
