*** REPORT FROM THE LINE OF FIRE ***

UNITED KINGDOM
LONDON, ENGLAND

TUESDAY 27 SEPTEMBER

Manor Park – woman rescued from house[b]
Fire crews were called to a fire in a house on Monega Road in Manor Park early this morning. A man and a woman managed to get out of the building before the brigade arrived, but a second woman had climbed out onto a window ledge by the time crews arrived. Firefighters brought her to safety using a three piece extension ladder and all three people were treated for smoke inhalation by the London Ambulance Service. The fire is thought to have started after the flame from a candle set fire to a television and music system on the ground floor. The occupiers were fortunate to escape serious injury having been alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm. Crews worked quickly to stop the blaze from spreading to the second floor of the two storey property. The Brigade was called at 0134 and the fire was under control by 0200. Crews from Stratford and Leytonstone fire stations attended the incident.

Marylebone – man rescued from flat
Four fire engines were called to a fire which damaged flats on the second and third floor of a five storey building on Nottingham Place in Marylebone last night. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from the third floor flat who was treated by the London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is being investigated. The Brigade was called at 2041 and the fire was under control by 2244. Crews from Euston and Clerkenwell fire stations attended the incident.
