    Default Arson Detection/Prevention Programs

We are putting the finishing touches on a FPG for an Arson Detection/Prevention program. We referenced NFPA 921 to develop an equipment list of items that we did not have for our fire investigation team. I have requested a SLR Camera, Telephoto Lens, Hydrocarbon Detector, and portable lighting equipment. I looked at the program guidance and it states firefighting equipment is not allowed. Would the portable lighting equipment be considered firefighting equipment?

Normally yes, but since it serves a genuine purpose here I don't see a problem with it being included. Mostly because you won't want to take equipment off of a frontline piece to handle lighting. Same if you asked for fire boots for walking around scenes in. Full structural PPE, not quite.
