    Default Fire Pretection Districts

    I would like to know how other Fire Dept. area have been broken up into, like is by population or insurance reasons or geographics

    As far as how they're organized to respond or for taxing purposes?

    It is important to note that (at least here in Wisconsin) Fire protection Districts are different than a fire protection area. They both regard the area of protection served by a FD, but at least here, an official Fire Protection District is govened by different methods of operation. In our area there are both Fire Protection Districts made up of towns and townships co-oped and protected by a FD and there are Fire Protection areas (like mine) where the city owns the fire department, and neighboring rural towns buy their protection from the city.
