    Default Search for background info?

    Hey guys/gals,

I have just reciently progressed to the background step for my first fire department test. My question is... Are there any hints, past experiences, or help for finding information about past employers (start dates, former bosses, etc..) that will be pertinent in these questions. All help would be appreciated.

do whatever you have to to get all of the info. when I did my background portion, I didnt have the phone number for one of my x boses, he changed cell number and that was his business line, investigator said he couldnt go any farther till I got it. Also college transcripts, I owed money to the college when I left and I needed my papers, I had to pay the remaining $600 to the college inorder to get them, originally I called to see If I would be ok without them but the investigator said that I absolutly needed them inorder to pass the investigation. Also everyone of your references will be contacted!!! my background pacted asked for, Current and past emplyer, 2 coworkers, parents, siblings, supervising officer of fire department I was with, 2 neighbores and also 2 other people that I had known for more than 2 years. each of these people got a 5 page packet to fill out and return. be carefull who you pict, just because you have known someone for a long time does not mean that they will give you a favorable responce in your packet..!!

Thanks for the reply. I did however have another question about one of you responses. If you worked for a large corporation and the management that you worked for has not been employed by that company for a while how are they going to contact them? Just wondering because the turnover ratio was quite large for this company?
