Its unusual for fires to make the National News in the UK....even the regional News programmes only mention the worse of them but a Fire on the World's longest pleasure pier in Southend, Essex (East of London) and a fire on the set of the animation comany that made this weekends US Box office hit have bothe gone up in smoke overnight.

Hey Steve.. I am in the UK too, though I am up here in Scotland... these fires made our news too.. quite shocking to see the pier in ruins, & a total shame about the Aardman fire too... all those models & stuff melting.. such a shame.

Maybe you can answer me a question.. what do I have to do to get above a 'guest' on here? I seem to get blank looks & no answers from everyone else.
Cheers!

You know, Proby no offense but ... I noticed you posted in the thread "New Forum Look". Perhaps, instead of asking this question in almost every thread you have posted in, if you read the entire thread "New Forum Look" thread you would have your answer
The Webteam is the one to direct your question at, not the general members.

Sorry, it is a pet peeve (as it is with many others here) that people comment without reading the whole thread. Your constant question was an extension of that.
Hijacking over
Steve, looks like a lot of history lost there

From what I remember the pier was very impressive - I remember eating fish and chips, taking in the shops along it! What a shame.
Saw Wallice & Grommit on the weekend - very funny. Who is under investigation? Wallace is most likely the culprit, though more than likely accidental!

It was in the paper today that Nick Park was counting his chickens today because the models of Wallace & Gromit the dog were saved because he had locked them away in a seperate room from the rest of his models in a steel box to stop theives making off with them... Lucky save!
