Tooting – Flat fire

Fire crews were called to a fire in a ground floor flat on Glasford Street in Tooting this morning. The blaze started in the living room of the five roomed flat on the ground floor. The fire is thought to have been caused by the careless disposal of a cigarette. Three people left the building before firefighters arrived and were taken to hospital by London Ambulance crews suffering the effects of smoke inhalation. The Brigade were called at 0512. Fire crews from Tooting fire station attended the incident.

Kenton – house fire
Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters were called to a blaze in a house which completely gutted the first floor and roof on Aston Avenue in Kenton last night. The fire is thought to have started in the loft. The family left the building before fire crews arrived. The Brigade was called at 2203 and the fire was under control by 2333. Fire crews from Stanmore, Harrow and Wembley fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
