Default CPAT for yearly Physical Agility?

Are there any departments out there that use the CPAT for their yearly physical agility test?

Cpat cannot be used this way if it is used in a punitive way. Our department is currently working with a firm and have been particpating in fitness evalutions to come up with a basic guideline that has bonuses attached to it.

Although there are elements of the CPAT in it, our every-other-year Work Performance Evaluation is not the CPAT.

    Default Speaking of which

How many volunteer Depts. use a yearly physical (Not a doctors visit)?

    If any?

    Just curious... thought I'ld ask.

Any fit for fire training drills?

Here we use the CTT (Criterion Task Test). Basically the combat challenge. Has to be completed in 6 minutes and 59 seconds, pass or fail, and is done each year.

According to the info about the origins of the CPAT, it was initially "made" as an annual-type test for ff's, and was approved by the IAFF/IAFC.
If I can find find the link again I'l post it, but in a nutshell they asked some university types to make a test that would provide a valid look at a ff's level of fitness throughout his/hers career. I don't know why it somehow became an entry level test.
I agree, it shouldn't be a punitive situation, and I'm sure your Local would be able to work that out.
fFor what it's worth, one of our neighboring departments provides incentive pay to ff's that take and pass an annual agility test, similar to the Combat Challenge.
    Neat idea!
