Has anyone had Bariatric Surgery?

Just checking to see who on the form has had Bariatric Surgery and how you are doing after surgery. I had an open RNY (Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass) in March 2004 I have lost over 150 pounds, went from size 56 to size 38 pants and size XXXL shirt to large size. The only compilcation that I have had is a ulcer which is in check with medication.

I can now walk for miles not blocks, I have more energy then I can remerber every having and generally feel great. While I will be the first to say that the surgery is not for everyone it has helped me be healther in my life. It does require a life style change after surgery you can't eat like you did before surgery. You also have to think of the surgery as a tool to help you get and stay healthly.
