    Richmond – woman rescued

    Firefighters were called to a fire at a flat on Queens Road in Richmond yesterday afternoon. A woman was rescued by fire crews wearing breathing apparatus via an external staircase. The woman was treated by London Ambulance crews suffering from smoke inhalation. The blaze badly damaged the four roomed flat on the first floor. The Brigade was called at 1334 and the fire was under control by 1400. Firefighters from Richmond and Kingston attended the incident.

    The Western Historical Manuscript Collection at the University of Missouri-St. Louis is sponsoring an exhibit of photographs by photographer David J. Dubowski. The exhibit entitled FIRE IN THE LENS is in the WHMC gallery on the second floor of the Thomas Jefferson Library on the campus of the University of Missouri St. Louis. Mr. Dubowski is a Fireman and his work reflects his profession. The photographs will be on exhibit from through Monday October 31.
