Harold Wood – sports pavilion fire

Fire crews were called to a blaze at a sports pavilion on Brinsmead Road, Harold Wood in the early hours of this morning. The blaze destroyed most of the building and firefighters used three jets to fight the flames.
The Brigade was called at 0342. Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters from Hornchurch, Romford and Ilford attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rainham – house fire
Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters attended a blaze at a house on Wennington Road in Rainham yesterday afternoon. The fire completely gutted the first floor and the rest of the building was severely damaged by heavy smoke logging. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to tackle the incident. The Brigade was called at 1410 and the fire was under control by 1457. Firefighters from Wennington, Hornchurch and Dagenham fire stations attended. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation.
