Anyone know how to get hazmat tech a? There are a few of us interested and I was looking for classes near Chicago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know where there are a few EMT Classes that you might enjoy (okay okay okay just kidding )

    There is a Tech A class 03/03/2006 - 03/05/2006 & 03/10/2006 - 03/12/2006 in Palos Hills.

There was supposed to be a Tech A class in Peotone coming soon (50 miles so of Chicago), I'll try to find more information on that.

    CFF-
I cannot recommend this place highly enough: Southern Kane County Training Assoc. They are in North Aurora, but have many classes in Aurora as well. I checked their schedule just now; they don't have the 2006 calendar up yet, and I see they had nothing this fall for Tech, but, as they are in the midst of building a huge regional training site, I'm sure they'll have something perculating this winter/spring. I'll give them a buzz after 9:00 and report back my findings......

Also, Downers Grove runs a pretty good academy as well. They have a Tech A class that just finished last month. DGFA . Give Jon Ibraham a call; he'll give you the hook-up.

I just got off the phone with Southern Kane. No Tech A classes planned. Period. (?)

Anyhoo, sounds like Palos is you next best bet. I'll keep my ear to the rail.

Another source is to check with your local IFSI rep, he is the one that handles all the certification classes. His phone # and addy can be found on the IFSI web... Happy Hunting

    Default Tech A

    ChicagoFF,

I've been looking for Tech classes myself. All of the previous posts are correct. Two years ago, EVERYONE was holding Tech A & B classes. Now that the classes are free, it's pretty difficult to find them.

I spoke with Ibraham 2 weeks ago. DGFA will have a 2006 Tech A class. (They just finished a weekend-only Tech A class.) He's not sure about a Tech B class d/t the amount of space, equipment, and resources needed. Also, I asked about the HazMat Chemistry class...it seems that there's only a handful of sites that hold this class in the midwest!

If you find another site, please post it.
