Default Is no news good news

We have not recieved a DJ letter, but then again we have not recived a request for any other info nor have we heard from any of the politicians. Is this normal procedure or were we just missed.

With the re-review of some apps, things are on hold. There are a few other folks that have gotten 1199As and questions and haven't been announced, but that number is low. They're just making sure that all due diligence has been done with the re-reads so that they don't send out something that will get pulled back later.

It's normal procedure. DJ's are still going out, and there may still be questions going out. No news is good news even this late into the game.

It never hurts to cross your fingers and toes, find that lucky rabbit's foot, capture that pot of gold and wish upon a star.

Same for us, no 10-Qs or DJ. I believe no news is good news at this point.

I still have 1 FD that rc'd Q's and 1199 over 2 months ago and no award yet, they weren't listed in today's list...they rc'd notice of a reduction about 5 weeks ago, and asked for a bit more info at that time. I keep hoping for their sake they are funded.

Although, one FD that was funded I worked with (funded last week) rc'd Q's back in the SUMMER...so, it is a longer process this time. Hopefully, they are eventually getting to everyone. But, our fingers and toes are crossed too, it sure makes typing difficult, doesn't it!

I am getting the snse that the recinded DJ's are having a little bit of an impact on the later rounds. Four or five mentions on another thread of recissions getting 10q's--makes me grateful that we were awarded early. Those on the bubble seem to be moving around a bit.

    Earl,
Well, don't forget that by now, those early rounds (at least 1-3 or so) may have had a few turn downs - where the town or FD rejected the grant after the fact, or they had extra funds, and gave that back. So, a few awards here or there will only mean that there won't be the excessive number of '05 awards given during the '06 cycle of funded ones.

There may also have been some inappropriate things found during summer site visits that meant $ going back to the pot. Which means more grants...

You just never know what the true overall picture is, but I doubt a few awarded here and there will make that much difference.

Let's throw one thing out into the arena also. My sources tell me that the rescinded DJ's, are not in any way affecting those that were reviewed and scored prior to the rejection notices that were recalled. They apparently set aside $10 mill ( I suspect from refused grants and errors as dixiechicknc pointed out) to fund those seperatly. Those 300, that were subjected to the recall review, are not affecting those that had still not recieved their money as of yet. If you were destined to get an award, prior to the rescinded DJ's, you will still get your award. At least that is what I am being told. We can only hope that this is true but, so far the information I have received to these inquiries has been accurate.

Someone needs to pop the Energizer batteries out of the Notification Bunny.

Also, FYI: there will be more SAFER awards. $4 million worth was refused from early rounds, and was put back in the pot.

Well that's good to know since I haven't been DJ'd for safer yet. Of course I just opened my trap so it will probably be forthcoming...... DOOOOHH

coldfire, dust off the quotes, your going to need them real soon.

SW - I believe the brooms broke after the other two rounds of DJs and they're getting more here soon.
