Default Confined space vs auto extrication?

Looking to possibly apply for either auto extrication equipment or confined space equipment for 2006 AFG. Our current auto extrication equipment is inadequate at best and our confined space equipment is virtually non-existant. Any suggestions for which we should apply for, if either? Other suggestions?

    Thank-you
    Joel

    P.S. Additional info.

2001 AFG New PPE for entire dept.

Current SCBA's bought in 1999, to new to replace?

    Vehicles fairly up to date.

Technical rescue is a low priority because of all of the initial and continuing training required to keep certification. Vehicle rescue is a decently high priority. Quite a few sets of tool have been awarded each year.

Thanks. I'm just proud to be a part of the Fire Service, so I do what I can when I can.

Which do you get the most calls for?

    Surely that'd answer your question....

The answer to that would still not change the AFG priorities. They will fund auto extrication far more often than confined space as it is, as Brian said, "technical rescue" which is a lower priority.

Besides, if you need auto extrication equipment why are you not using the CEDAP grant? There is a great set of AMKUS extrication tools available there and you have "0" cost.

Look on my website ( check profile) for information on CEDAP and contact me off line if you want help with the application.
