A fire caused about $55,000 damage to two houses in North Toledo yesterday, displacing people living in one of the residences, authorities said.
The blaze was reported just after 5 a.m. at Louise Robinson’s two-story house at 944 Frederick St.
The structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
They tried to search the house, but determined that all the occupants had fled to safety, officials said.
In the meantime, the flames spread to a neighboring two-story house at 942 Frederick, which is owned by Dawn Stills.
The Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross was called in to assist those residents displaced and affected by the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, according to fire reports.
