Does anyone have a list or know of one that exists for items that are allowable under the left over monies for fire prevention use. In the guidance documents it gives you very little "Grantees may use excess funds to create or expand a fire prevention program." No where does it say what you are allowed to get. I have heard laptops, projectors, coloring books, the little remote control fire hydrant.. but have seen no list so to speak. I spoke with my grant specialist at DHS but he was of no help. Any specifics would be great. I have a about $10,000 to spend after my $5,000 for extra equipment.

Anything that is listed in the FP Program Guidance as eligible for a Fire Prevention Grant Application is what you can buy with excess funds. You named off the big ones that most everyone gets already: DVD players, VCRs, laptops, desktops, software, printers, copiers, robots, DVDs, CDs, VHS Tapes, etc, etc, etc.
It's kinda like looting: most head right for the electronics section and then go from there. Of course you want to actually use these things for FP, not just get them and use them for the other benefits such as training and inspections, reports, and so on.
