Sounds like an interesting job. Something that's right up my alley. Too bad I don't live near-by, I'd apply.

Hmm I'd have to think about that one for a bit, but ya know, someone's gotta do it....

You know that tv show "The Insomniac"? I think Dave Attell hung out with a "bio-recovery technician" one night.

I know"Mythbusters"dealt with cleaning a car after a pig corpse had been in it,to see if it could be cleaned to the point that no one would notice a smell. If I remember, they had to strip the interior to bare metal before they could get the smell out.
"Dirty Jobs"may have had an episode like that as well.I know a few guys that detail cars and cleaning after a fatality in a car is definitely a "detail job from Hell"after the car has been in 90degree heat a few days.
My own experience was a body removal for the coroner who couldn't hold it down because the deceased had lain in his house for two weeks. We wore SCBA,tyvex suits, gloves and booties for the job and got to practice decontamination without the wading pool.

I do the cleaning
After 21 years in the fire service I started a Trauma Scene cleaning service, it does get to you sometimes but just like wearing an SCBA into a fire, it becomes old hat after a while the hardest part is the first one. I got into this after having to do the task after my father passed away some years ago, wasn't found for three days, back then there were no companies doing this task, so if I was to sell his house them......

There are several of these companies in the UK right now. Must be our burgeoning violent crime and murder rate. One company in the London area was even featured on a TV documentary programme last month.
Having watched it, my abiding memory of it is the firm turning up at a housing project and asking directions to the flat where the mess was. The kid they asked pointed to one block, and the guy asking replied "No its not there, we did that one last week".
(If anyone is prepared to do this, a tip o the hat to them. At my police service we call out the Marine Unit to deal with smelly scenes).United Kingdom branch, IACOJ.
