The video was shot in Tacoma, Wa
The news helicopter arrived before the first due engine, this is raw footage.
2 story apartments, fire reportedly started on ground floor, quickly spread to 2nd then the attic.
First in engine had 2 victims to remove, the one in the video apprently died the next day; other victim was removed by ground ladder from 2nd floor.
Video is great example of effects of ventilation- notice the smoke pushing from the eves prior to the hole being opened.
Hole was cut by a new proby

Can you repost the link? It doesn't seem to be valid.

Still not a valid link to this video. The main page of the King5 does show the results of a police car involved in an accident while responding to a call. It also shows the monorail incident that occurred yesterday.

Sorry guys, don't know what's happened, the video is there. but something isn't connecting. Best I can do now is go to http://www.king5.com/video, type in "Tacoma Apartment fire" in the search area, then click on the "unedited video" .
to watch . This is the URL for it.

Thanks Mittle, it worked for me, I thought it might need people to log into the site, it does ask to join the king 5 newsgroup or something.

I right clicked the movie from the station and scrolled down to properties. Highlighted "location" and copied it. Opened media player, pasted it and it opened. While it was playing added it to library and it worked.

Since you were able to save it can you post it on here. I tried the site search and had no luck. It may be just me and my lack of computer skills

    Try this

    mms://beloint.wmod.llnwd.net/a125/o1/www.king5.com/ki_100505tacfire.wmv

Cut and paste this since it won't hyperlink. It works in Real Player or Media Player.

You can obviously tell the media just doesn't get it. "They have the fire containted and letting it burn itself out..."

Otherwise very awesome video of how important venting is.

Nice textbook vent operation. The guys got up there, cut the hole in the right place, and got off the roof. I'm impressed.

LOL, yeah I noticed that too- they make it sound like the fire is taking over the building, and we're just standing there protecting the shrubbery...
If anyone can somehow post it as a better link, it would be great, I have trouble getting back up sometimes.
