I know this should go under the "Missing Kids" forum..... but I wanted this to get as much exposure as possible. This little girl has been missing since yesterday, and it's cold out around these parts at night. I thought maybe if I posted it here it might aid in finding her.

LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- KYLE MOORE KIRO 7 EYEWITNESS NEWS

A worried Pierce County family needs your help finding their missing little girl.

No one has seen 10-year old Adreanna Jackson since Friday morning when her father walked her part-way to school.

He didn’t realize that school was closed because of the snow.

And now, authorities have launched a full scale search.

Pierce County search dogs and rescue crews scoured the Tillicum area of Lakewood, Pierce County late Friday night. It’s a desperate search for missing10 year old Adreanna Jackson.

Dwayne Darnell, a friend of Adreanna’s family says what’s everybody’s mind, “we want to find her and find her alive.”

Darnell’s 15 year old daughter rushed to the command post when they learned their neighbor vanished.

Lindsee Darnell says, “we need to find her because somebody could like kidnap her and do bad stuff to her.”

Lakewood Police say Jackson’s father walked her part of the way to Tillicum Elementary School.around 7:45 Friday morning, but school was cancelled because of the snow.

When the 10 year old did not come home her mother became worried

Lakewood Police Detective Mike Zaro says, “the mother went out and conducted a search of her own, anddidn't find her.”

Specially-trained search dogs and rescue volunteers fanned out from the elementary school searching for any sign of the girl.

Volunteers are going door to door to try and locate her.

But with the temperature droppping, Zaro says the concern increases, “she has been gone 14 hours now obviously the worst case scenario is somebody had done some harm to her and she is injured somewhere.”

Friends who are joining officers say they will be out all night if that is what it takes to find Adreanna.

Lakewood Police released this description of Adreanna A. Jackson:

    Born in September of 1995

    Reddish-blonde hair

Last seen wearing a heavy black jacket, blue shirt, blue pants, and white tennis shoes.

They haven't found this young lady yet, but they've suspended the search. Strange, but they must know something the public doesn't. I watched the news last night and the mother was on and she made a rather strange comment, "Adreanna please come home we're not mad at you", kind of led one to believe that there was more to the story than a child simply disappearing on her way to school. There was also a neighbor who stated that the home wasn't a happy one and that the police would be better off looking closer to home. I personally don't care what is what, I just hope that they find this little girl alive and safe; once she's found the other stuff can be dealt with. My prayers are with her.

Lakewood Police Suspend Search For Missing Girl

    POSTED: 7:41 a.m. PST December 4, 2005

LAKEWOOD -- Lakewood police have suspended the

search for a 10-year-old girl who has been missing since

Friday, even though her location was still unknown.

Fourth-grader Adre-Anna Jackson disappeared Friday morning after she

left her apartment for a five-minute walk to Tillicum Elementary

    School in Lakewood.

Her family said they didn't realize she was

missing until late Friday afternoon because they didn't know the

school was closed because of snow.

On Saturday, Lakewood police searched the girl's apartment, as

well as nearby American Lake for clues to the girl's disappearance.

Lakewood assistant police Chief Dave Hall says up to 120 searchers and family members knocked on doors, handed out fliers and searched nearby parks and

neighborhoods for the girl, but turned up few if any leads.

Hall says the girl's disappearance, for now, is being treated as

    a missing person's investigation.

Her mother said the girl was carrying a black and pink backpack.

She was wearing blue jeans, possibly a blue shirt and white tennis

    shoes.

She's just under 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 78 pounds,

with brown hair and reddish highlights. She may have been wearing a

    puffy black coat or jacket.

Officials halt search for missing 10-year-old

Police have no clues to the whereabouts of Adreanna Jackson, 10.

Investigators are looking for new leads in the disappearance of a 10-year-old Tillicum, Pierce County, girl missing since Friday morning.

Lakewood police have spent the past two days looking for Adreanna Jackson, but officials said Saturday they will stop search efforts today until new information can be developed. The girl was last seen Friday morning by her mother after she sent the girl to school, unaware that classes had been canceled due to snowfall.

"Our search crews were large enough to be able to cover all the likely places where Adreanna might have gone," said Lakewood Assistant Police Chief Dave Hall. "At this point, there's no benefit in having people search the same areas already searched."

More than 120 personnel from the Lakewood police and fire departments, Pierce County search-and-rescue teams and Fort Lewis searched the Tillicum and Woodbrook areas south of Tacoma. A dive team also was sent into nearby American Lake, Hall said.

While abduction and foul play have not been ruled out, police continue to investigate the disappearance as a missing-person case, Hall said.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps find Adreanna. Tips can be called in to 253-591-5959
