    Default department software

I run a small fire department and I am looking for software to help out. Everything I have found so far is expensive and offers more than I will use for my dept.. I want to find something that offers- personel, inventory, training, hose test, pump test, hydrants, pre plan, inspections and possibly report entry (NFIRS) without all the other stuff at a resonable price. can anyone help me?

Sorry, but that sounds like you NEED the expensive software (I don't know what the other stuff is). You can do the NFIRS for free. Just download their software from this site: http://www.nfirs.fema.gov/ and set up per their instructions. We use FirePrograms, does almost everything that Firehouse does at about half the price (just my personal opinion).

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Just someone trying to help! (And by the way....Thanks for YOUR help!)

Aggressive does not have to equal stupid.

Training does not make perfect. Training makes permanent!

Our department had someone that worked for the town come in sit with the chief and go over what he wanted in a program, she then took the ideas and made us a program off of access, we have call tracking, pay roll, hose testing
inspections and all the rest. So this may be something to look at. From what I hear if you take some trainning in Access you could make a program your self. Hope this helps

My department uses FirePrograms, and so far it is ok. I find that it is a little labor intensive and often times overwhelming. We have just started to use the security function and so far it is working out well.
