We are looking into a fund that would accumulate money to replace apparatus in the future. The concern is how much to figure for inflation, does anyone else use a precentage? For example if we can provide adequete service with a $200k pumper today, what should we expect the rough cost of a similar unit to be in 30 years?

increases
I think that most manufactures figure a 10% per year increase but that can be widely variable based on costs of raw material, shortages of things and labour.
