Be proud that you're now part of the best profession in the world. Screw those that don't appreciate it.
Don't let a few malcontents drag you down. If you do work for a large department, I'm sure there are many brothers that are very happy with their profession and with their dept. Align yourself with them and with their attitude.
You'll find enough stuff from time to time during your career that will get you down . Don't go looking for it.
Look for all the positive things about your dept., and don't dwell on the negative BS that some clowns are always spewing. Although there may be a few legitimate beefs (and there are always some) that the guys may have, there are always those people that would still bitch and moan if you doubled their vacation and tripled their pay.
Your part of an amazing Brotherhood! BE PROUD!

thanks for the input. further research on my part shows the pride doesn't seem to yell as loud as the individuals who just want to bitch abouteverything but do nothing about anything. will continue to drive on and step over them on the way by.
