I initiated some Topics within this Forum to attract a response from Australians or New Zealanders, but the lack of responses indicate that there may not be any Australians or New Zealanders on this Forum?

Hello New Zealand and welcome.
I guess there would be a fair few of them out fighting Bushfires, especially in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Welcome Bendigo
Hello Bendigo, welcome.
You live in a nice part of the world.
I spent a few days around Maldon and Castlemaine.
Nice country, especially when the Wattle was in bloom.

Welcome to our friends down under
Great to have representation from down under. It may be a great leap of faith but I suspect there may be the odd rugby fan among you. I played for more years than I care to remember and consider my rugby playing days as golden. I recently received some great news from one of my former team mates who's son was just named to the All-Black under 19 squad for the under 19 World Championships in Dubai. His selection will no doubt result in a New Zealand cheering section here in Canada.

Glad to be back though

Hola!
Good to see that there are some female fireys around. I had the good fortune of meeting the other 3 girls in my region on my Rec Trng Course and we currently have the only station in our zone with 2 girls. I will definately be checking back in here often.

Welcome Australia
Welcome Australia to the Forums.
Although it is now winter Down Under, in the coming summer months may you have a safe and uneventful Bush Fire Season and may your footy team win.

Retained - Permo Q's
Hey guys/gals
Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has switched from Retained to permanent (NSWFB)? I have been retained for a couple of months now and love the job and am considering applying in the next intake for the permo's. Any advice etc?
I am already training to get my fitness up - am not to worried about the strength test as I have already completed them at Rec Trng but the beep test is a bit of a concern.
I have been told that I shouldn't divulge my intention to my station so I figured I'd ask around here.
Thanx
