    Smile hey i wanna get started..please help

    ive really been wanting to get into fire fighting and i really cant find anything about getting started. how can i get started. i heard theres a prgram you can get into at age 17. do i just go to a local station? if you can help i would greatly apreciate!

    Explorer Scouts may be what you've heard of.Contact your local fire department(s) to find out.
    My department seems to be the only one in McCracken County Kentucky that has a post.

    My advice is to stop by your local FD. They will have info specific to your area and depending on when your b-day is you may be able to join a a full member.

    yea i was going to stop b by like next month(my bday is in a week) and find out, does it better your chances?

    LOL! Cake is always appreciated. I don't know about taking it in when you are trying to get info though.

    so..do you guys have any tips/advice when im in training on how to get in for good? yea i know..i have to perform good and know all the things about it. any advice though?thanx

    I am an explorer captain and some of the things I look at is how the person acts at the station if they are playing around and if they really want to be there so I say just try to prove yourself that you want to be in it and not only will the firefighters like that but the advising officers will to. and good luck.
