Default Fort Hood Firefighter Died Doing What He Loved.

Fort Hood Firefighter Chad Wessels, died early Saturday morning, Dec 12, 2005 while responding to a structure fire with the Briggs Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Wessels was a paid member with Fort Hood Fire & Emergency Services, a long time volunteer with the Briggs VFD, and a member of numerous Special Op's teams in the Burnet, Marble Falls, and
Lampassas area. He started on Fort Hood as a medic with the ambulance service and transfered to the FD at the first opportunity. He was driving a Briggs VFD water tender which he kept and maintained at his home. Chad was known and loved by hundreds, maybe thousands, of people over a four or five county radius. He has been described by one of his Captains as "A beautiful man, A man who truly loved the fire service." All of us at Fort Hood FES would like to express our condolences to the Wessels family, as well as the other departments where Chad worked. He will truley be missed.
